It’s all about Jesus. I’m learning that this is the bottom line for me. It’s not how long I pray, it’s not how much I read, it’s not about being spiritual. It’s not even how much I read the Bible. It’s not about winning converts, having friends, making a difference, saving souls, or whatever else.
It’s about Jesus.
I’ve been reading up on the history of my family, and I’ve learned something new. And I don’t mean some new, big, dramatic discovery.
I mean something that I’ve known all along.
It’s all about Jesus.
Jesus was born into a life of crime. He lived in a place called Palestine. His entire life he was persecuted. And he didn’t say one word about it. He never once said, “They hate me because I am an alien,” “I am persecuted because of my race,” or “I am persecuted because I am different.” He never said anything about it.
I mean, it’s all about Jesus.
And I want to live a life that reflects that.
I am very happy for the people who have been down my path, who have let me be a part of their lives, and have welcomed me into theirs. But I’m a different person now.
It’s all about Jesus.
And while I’m learning, in no way, shape, or form am I declaring I’m perfect. I’m the first to admit I have sinned and have made mistakes. But it’s all about Jesus.
